>>DESIGNED FOR
This one day course is for people who need to analyse and summarise large amounts of
data and automate basic tasks.

>>AIM
By the end of the course, delegates will be confident in using some of Excel’s more
advanced features. They will be able to use conditional formula and pivot tables to
manipulate information and record simple macros.

>>OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Confidently use complete and partial absolute cell references.
  • Use the IF command to create a conditional result
  • Use LOOKUP tables for more complex conditional needs
  • Use Basic & Advanced Filters to select information from an Excel database
  • Create Pivot Tables to produce instant cross-references of database information
  • Record simple macros to automate repetitive tasks

This course is run for a maximum of six delegates.

  1. Recap: Partial Absolute Cell References; Using the function Wizard; Good design principles; Range names; Adding comments
  2. Conditional & Lookup functions: IF, HLOOKUP & VLOOKUP
  3. Excel Database: Using the Advanced Filter Pivot tables
  4. Recording macros and running macros
>>REQUIREMENTS
Delegates must be confident users of Excel with extensive experience of creating and
copying formulas.

Delegates must also be able to place $ in formulas to create Absolute Cell
References.
