Chairing Meetings

This workshop enables participants to understand the extent of their responsibilities; and is appropriate for both new and current chair persons who need to develop existing skills and consider new approaches.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify existing problems in their meetings (if applicable)
  • State the possible reasons for having a meeting
  • Describe their responsibilities as a chair person
  • List the important points which contribute to an effective plan
  • State the importance of agendas
  • Explain the importance of self management
  • Explain the importance of maintaining control of the meeting
  • Explain the importance of minute taking & production

This course should be run for groups of up to 16.

People who are required to chair meetings.

Can be tailored to address specific issues within your organisation and / or teams.

The contents of this workshop will incorporate issues of equal opportunities and antioppressive practice to assist participants in understanding and challenging all forms of discrimination.
