Powerpoint Advanced

This one day course is for people have created basic presentations in PowerPoint and
wish to know how to speed up their work, create charts, and become more advanced in
creating graphics and using animation effects.

By the end of the course, delegates will be confident in using PowerPoint to create
professional presentations that include logos, pictures, sound, film and charts.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Use the master slides to standardise their presentation and speed up their work.
  • Add their company´s logo to all of their slides.
  • Create their own template which they can re-use for all presentations.
  • Change the colour of clipart and "cut out" the parts of it delegates want to use.
  • Use the drawing toolbar to create diagrams.
  • Use Microsoft Graph to produce bar charts and pie charts.
  • Use information from an Excel spreadsheet to create a chart in PowerPoint.
  • Create organisation charts in their presentation.
  • Insert hyperlinks to other presentations during an on-screen show.
  • Rehearse the timings so that their presentation can run on its own.
  • Use PowerPoint multimedia tools to add video and sound to their presentation.
  • "Send" their presentation into Word


This course is run for a maximum of six delegates.


  1. What are masters? Changing the fonts on the master. Changing the background of the master. Changing indents and bullets. Adding a logo to the master. Creating their own template.
  2. Using the ClipArt toolbar. Ungrouping Clipart. AutoShapes. Grouping and Ungrouping. Changing the stacking order. Alignment. Free Rotate.
  3. Inserting a chart. Formatting the chart. Using Organisation Charts.
  4. Creating hyperlinks. Rehearsing timings. Using sound and film. Linking to
Participants must be confident in the Windows environment and in using the mouse.

Delegates must have created basic presentations in PowerPoint and be confident in
adding and editing text on slides, printing, and adding a design template.
