Powerpoint Essentials

This one day course is for people who need to create overheads, 35mm slides and screen shows to enhance their presentations.

>>AIM
By the end of the course, delegates will be confident in using the essential features of
PowerPoint to create and alter simple Presentations.

>>OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Add speaker´s notes.
  • Change the order of slides.
  • Use the master view to standardise their presentation.
  • Insert clipart
  • Draw their own pictures and diagrams on the slides
  • Create an automatic screen show.
  • Use animation during an on-screen show, to have text "fly-in" from off-screen.

This course is run for a maximum of six delegates.

>>TIME TABLE SESSIONS

  1. What is PowerPoint? Starting PowerPoint. Creating a presentation; Using slide view; Different views; Slide sorter view.
  2. Outline view - creating and sorting slides; Collapsing and expanding presentations; Notes pages view; Templates - colour schemes and backgrounds; Master view; Presentation design tips; Printing
  3. Inserting Clipart. Drawing on slides. WordArt.
  4. Slide transitions; Animation effects; On-screen presentations.
>>REQUIREMENTS
Participants must be confident in the Windows environment and in using the mouse.

Delegates must know how to save, close and open a file in one other Microsoft Office
program.

A basic knowledge of Word or Excel is desirable. No knowledge of PowerPoint is
required.
