Recruitment & Selection (1 Day Course)

Participants will have gained an understanding of the recruitment and selection processes in your Organisation and know their responsibilities within these.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • State the differences between direct and indirect discrimination
  • Explain the importance of legislation
  • Describe your Organisation’s recruitment & selection process and their role
  • Describe their responsibilities when short-listing candidates for interview
  • List at least 6 aspects to be appraised when reviewing job applications and CVs
  • Give examples of at least 4 different types of questioning used when interviewing
  • Describe their responsibilities before, during and after an interview


One day.

This course should be run for groups of up to 12.

Line Managers / deputies who are responsible for and /or are involved in the recruitment and selection of staff but have had minimal training or require a refresher.

  • Closing the interview: What should be said to candidates
