Word Advanced

This one day course is designed for people who need to use the advanced functions of
Word to create and manage longer documents.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to create a template to automate their
work. The template will include styles, table of contents, an index, and word fields. They
will also be able to create bookmarks and hyperlinks to other documents.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Use Styles to give documents a consistent look
  • Create a Table of Contents
  • Create and update an index
  • Create a template
  • Use fields in templates for frequently used letter formats
  • reate fields that prompt them to fill them in
  • Create Bookmarks and Hyperlinks
  • Create Footnotes and Endnotes

This course is run for a maximum of six delegates.


  1. Paragraph Formats, Indents, Advanced Headers & Footers.
  2. Templates, Stop Fields, Fill-in Fields.
  3. Styles, Tables of Contents, Document Maps, Outline View.
  4. Indexes, Bookmarks, Hyperlinks, Footnotes & Endnotes, Tracking
Delegates should be confident in creating reports and formatting.

Delegates should be confident with using the mouse and resizing windows.
